Chocolate and wine festivity raises funds for library
The annual Wine Tasting Gala to benefit the Malden Public Library is coming up this month.
Presented by the Friends of the Malden Public Library and M&M Liquors, the event will feature a wide selection of wines from around the world, a variety of nonalcoholic beverages, a chocolate buffet, and hors d’oeuvres from restaurants in the area. To be held in the Malden Public Library, the event will include guided tours of the art and architecture of the Library, live piano music, and a raffle.
Tickets are on sale now for $35 and can be purchased at the Information Desk at the Library and at M&M Liquors. Those who order wine at M&M Liquors when they purchase their tickets will have 10% of the proceeds donated to the Friends.
This is the 13th year that the Friends have been holding this event. The group also holds a book sale every year in October as its other major fundraising event to support the Library in its mission. Among the programs these funds support are concerts and art exhibits, books and graphic novels for young adults, books with large print, and supplies for children’s programs.
The Gala will be held on Friday, May 8 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Friends may have used a local flyer printing company to print details about the event, with a number to call for more information.
