UMass Lowell to host sustainability conference for startups

The UMass Lowell Innovation Hub and Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds will present the Getting from Here to There: Advancing Your Sustainability Solution event next month for startups engaged in green technology.

The Hub offers startups premier co-working spaces that include access to the UMass Lowell's faculty and research resources. Hamilton Brook Smith and Reynolds is an intellectual law firm that offers clients expert services with strategic approaches. Together, these two organizations will present a one-night only event to allow startups and small businesses involved in sustainability initiatives to come together to learn from each other, as well as experts in the field.

The event will feature Fireside Chats, where current startups will share their experiences of moving through the market. The Innovation Panel will feature talks from industry experts, such as Barbara Russell from CapW Global. Topics such as intellectual property, product development, and funding streams will be discussed. There will also be the Innovation Showcase where attendees will be able to network with entrepreneurs in various stages of development, as well as sustainability-minded community members. Networking opportunities like this often encourage professionals to bring along a supply of Business Cards to hand out.

The sustainability conference will take place on September 19 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will be held at UMass Lowell Innovation Hub on 110 Canal Street, and is free to attend.
