The 4th annual Mardi Gras Madness is taking place next week, and is a presentation of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce.
This event is not only seen as a celebration of the lead-up to Lent, but also as a great opportunity for local business leaders to promote their companies. Guests can arrive dressed up in related costumes if they feel like it.
There will be King cupcakes for sale to benefit the chamber's Community Service Scholarship, and appetizers and drinks will also be provided. Entertainment will consist of karaoke and live music.
The main event of the evening will be a raffle drawing for cash prizes up to $5,000 or Gift Certificates. Tickets are $50 each, $75 for two, and $100 for four.
Mardi Gras Madness is also being promoted as a way for local business leaders to advertise their products and services. By providing gift certificates with a minimum $50 denomination as raffle prizes, they are helping to spread awareness in the community. It is likely that most of those providing certificates will be working with Lowell printing companies to create them.
