Lowell’s Pottery Mill will hold the seven-week Handbuilding Clay Class beginning next month for anyone interested in this method.
Pottery Mill is an art school in Lowell that provides pottery wheel and handbuilding classes in both public and private sessions. It also offers private workspaces for artists needing a workshop for their projects.
The handbuilding workshop will meet every Wednesday and will span seven weeks from March into April. It will be offered to students aged 16 and up and will provide an introduction to handbuilding with clay, as well as allowing intermediate and advanced students to try their hands at learning new decorative techniques or improving upon already established ones. Class size is limited to ensure that all students receive one-on-one guidance with the instructor. Students will also be provided all materials needed to start a pottery project, including glazes, tools, firings, storage, and a 25lb bag of clay.
