Next month, the Jeanne Mitchell Memorial Golf Tournament will celebrate its third year of raising money for scholarships in remembrance of Lowell community member Jeanne Mitchell.
A 9-hole outing set in a scramble format, the golf tournament will feature prizes in various categories. There will also be food and drinks following the tournament, with the dinner-only choice for nongolfers now available because COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Jeanne Mitchell Memorial Scholarship fund which will benefit seniors at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School, where Jeanne worked at for many years. Last year’s tournament was able to raise enough money to award scholarships worth $2,000 to two graduating seniors this year. Guests are also welcomed to donate prizes for the raffles.
The memorial golf tournament is slated for Wednesday, September 1. Check in will be at 1:30 pm at the Mount Pleasant Golf Club, with a shotgun start at 2:00 pm. Dinner will begin at 4:30 pm at the Mount Pleasant function hall. The address is 141 Staples Street, Lowell.
Tickets are $100 for the golf tournament plus dinner and $50 for the dinner-only option. Any questions about registration or the event itself can be emailed to pattimcafferty@comcast.net.
