Lowell to celebrate 10th anniversary of robotics center

This February, the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of The New England Robotics Validation and Experimentation (NERVE) Center.

The NERVE Center opened at UMass in February 2013 as an interdisciplinary facility focusing on robotics research, training, and testing to evaluate human-robot interaction and robot capabilities when intertwined with human performance. The center’s mission is help robotic systems and their development by studying across various domains, such as exoskeletons, industrial automation, and disaster response.

Over the years, the NERVE Center has continued to research and grow its test and evaluation portfolios across the multiple domains it studies. The anniversary event will feature a short speaking presentation showcasing the last 10 years of the center’s research and progress. There will also be demos of technological projects and tours of the facility. Attendees will also enjoy a reception of light bites and refreshments.

Celebrations such as this will often invite special guests to attend, and special Invitations may be sent out. Such invitations can be printed at local Stationery printers offering specialized services to even organizers.

The anniversary celebration will be held on February 13 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It will take place at the NERVE Center, which is located at 110 Canal Street, Lowell. The event is free to attend.
