Lowell schedules virtual run

An annual running event in Lowell is going virtual this year.

The 2020 Turkey Trot celebrates the joy of coming together to be with friends and family and encourages people to dig out their activewear and get outside. With the uncertainty of the pandemic ongoing, Lowell is suggesting that runners do things a little differently this year.

Instead of getting together in person, runners can take part in a Turkey Trot Virtual Challenge. The event comprises four separate challenges, two that are three miles each and two that are two miles each, for a total of ten miles.

Participants can tackle all four challenges in a single run or divide them into smaller distances. They are welcome to run inside on a treadmill, walk around the neighborhood, or finish the event any other way they choose.

In order to take part, runners need to register, pick a location, and then run their personal race. Once they complete the event, they submit their results, and receive a medal. Registrants will be shipped a finisher's medal and official race bib. Flyer printing is a useful technique to create informative handouts for events like this and to spread the word.

The period to complete the race is from November 1 until December 12. Organizers will begin shipping race packets on November 1, and early bird prices are available until September 1.
