Lowell media workshop to teach interviewing skills

Next month, Lowell TeleMedia Center (LTC) will hold the Mediamakers 2023 workshop called How to Talk: An Intro to Interviewing.

The session is free to attend and will be for any Lowell residents interested in learning how to hone their interviewing skills.

Founded in 1995, the Lowell TeleMedia Center is the community media center and independent 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides media resources and training to residents of Lowell and the surrounding area. The LTC offers a space for people to gather, create, and share their opinions and messages, while providing all the tools and training necessary to make non-commercial radio programming and television programs.

The How to Talk workshop will delve into the craft of interviewing. The class will pay special attention to talk-show-style interviewing, man-on-the-street interviewing, and documentary-style interviewing. Attendees will learn a variety of different techniques and approaches that will be applicable to many different situations, including vetting hires, assembling a team, and applying for professional positions.

Workshops such as this that focus on honing skills will often include instructional materials, such as Brochures or training packets, for students to take home with them. Such materials can be professionally printed at Print shops specializing in services like brochure printing.

The interview workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The Lowell TeleMedia Center is located on 246 Market Street.
