Lowell history center to host exploratory camps

The Tsongas Industrial History Center will host themed summer camps this July for Lowell children to engage in historical and scientific concepts.

The Tsongas Industrial History Center is a hands-on educational center focused on teaching students about the American Industrial Revolution through tours of historical buildings and landscapes, as well as activities incorporating scientific concepts. These may include re-enacting historical moments and carrying out science experiments such as building simple machines and creating canal systems.

The summer camps will be the Boott Mills Camp for ages 8 to 12 (offered twice at different times in July) and the Eco-Explorers Camp for ages 10 to 14. The Boott Mills Camp will invite kids to explore and play while learning about the history of Lowell mills, boats, trolleys, and waterways. The Eco-Explorers Camp will give campers the opportunity to explore Lowell wilderness and participate in activities such as exploring tidepools and canoeing on a lazy river.

Children’s camps are often advertised by flyer distribution in locations such as community centers. As such, organizers of such events may invest in affordable flyer printing services.

The Boott Mills Camp is scheduled for July 11 through July 15, and July 25 through July 29. The Exo-Explorers will be from July 18 through July 22. The camp location will be at 115 John Street, Lowell, and the fee for each camp is $185.
