Lowell craft wokshop to teach crochet basics

This April, hobbyists interested in learning to crochet should note that Rosa Croughwell will hold the Introduction to Crochet - Level 0 Workshop in Lowell.

Rosa Croughwell is an experienced crocheter and owner of the Crochetwell online retail shop. With years of experience under her belt, Rosa creates and sells amigurumi, crocheted animals, based on children’s book characters. She also is a passionate advocate for sharing her skills, and she holds several fun, interactive classes and workshops revolving around crocheting throughout the year.

The Level 0 Workshop is designed to appeal to those beginners who have never picked up a crochet hook, or those who have dabbled in the basics but wish to refresh their skills. Participants will learn how to hold a crochet hook and yarn in the proper position, how to make a slipknot, how to crochet a foundation chain, and how to make a single basic crochet stitch. All necessary materials will be provided.

Organizers of crafting classes will sometimes utilize printed learning materials that can facilitate learning in a visual way, such as Posters. Local Print shops typically offer poster printing services for groups wishing to print in bulk.

The crochet class is scheduled for April 11 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will be held at Western Avenue Studios & Lofts, located at 122 Western Avenue, Studio 400. The fee to attend is $35.
