Lowell cooking class explores pickles and jams

Roots & Spoon will hold its Jar-to-Plate Tasting event this April in Lowell for attendees to explore the versatile ways that the shop’s pickles and jams can be used in creating creative dishes.

Roots & Spoon is a locally owned, small-batch canned goods company founded by farmer Laura Lee. The company specializes in fresh, seasonal, and sustainable preserves that people can feel good about eating and supporting. Roots & Spoon also offers sustainability educational content, farm-to-table recipes, and support to fellow small businesses. The preserves-making class in April is one such effort to connect with the local community.

The hands-on class will guide attendees through learning how to incorporate flavorful condiments supplied by Roots & Spoon into creative appetizers that will wow at any dinner party. The unique profiles of these jams and pickles will be discussed, including how to make fresh salads and create sweet-and-savory sandwich combos. Attendees will be able taste their creations during the class. People of all cooking levels are welcome to attend.

How-to classes like this will often include printed learning materials in the form of Brochures, which local Print shops can often offer to organizers at an affordable price.

The Jar-to-Plate class is slated for Wednesday, April 2 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. It will be held at 201 Market Street, Lowell.
