Lowell annual festival to combat winter blues

Next month, Lowell will host its Winterfest, the city’s annual festival celebrating activities, entertainment, and shopping unique to Lowell.

Heralded as one of the city’s “most beloved annual traditions,” the Lowell Winterfest offers the community a reprieve from the frigid chill and winter blues of the season. The festival also is an opportunity to showcase everything that the city has to offer in the areas of art, entertainment, and retail.

Attendees to the festival will enjoy live music showcasing both local and national acts. There will also be artists demonstrating their skills in the areas of ice carving and fire sculptures. Families will enjoy plenty of kid-centered activities, including an exciting scavenger hunt.

There will be a soup competition and a mini chocolate festival as well. Artisan vendors and retails will be set up at the Lowell Arts Market for any shoppers interested in creative products and handmade wares. For refreshments, various local food shops will also be present serving delicious food and beverages.

City festivals like this may be advertised on large billboards that can reach a large audience. Event organizers may employ the services of graphic design artists to create visually appealing adverts to display.

The Lowell Winterfest is slated for February 21 and February 22. It will take place in the Canalway Cultural District located along 375 Merrimack Street.
