The New England chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association will be holding its conference later this month in Lowell at the UMass/Lowell Inn and Conference Center.
The purpose of the conference is to bring together research laboratories, defense contractors, government agencies, and academics, as well as those from commercial industry and the financial sector.
There will be panel discussions about recent trends in data analytics, cybersecurity, surveillance, and unmanned aerial systems; new rapid acquisition programs with the United States Air Force; and a talk by Governor Charlie Baker about the planned investments of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to advance national security technology development and commercialization.
The opportunities and challenges for exploring collaboration between industry and the Department of Defense will be explored during the day of the event as well.
Dr. Israel Soibelman, from MIT Lincoln Laboratory; Charlie Benway, from MITRE; and Dr. Brian Pierce of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will be among the special speakers at the event.
There will be an evening networking session for those looking to talk with venture capitalists and prime contractors of the Department of Defense. This will no doubt provide an opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas and hand out their premium Business Cards.
