Town-wide festival honors Foxboro

Foxboro Founders Day took place earlier in the month, offering an opportunity for the community to come together for fellowship, food, and fun amidst a variety of activities, events, and pageantry.

The theme for this year’s event, which took place on June 13, was ‘Music in the Air’, which was the basis for the entries for the parade. This was carried over to other events in which businesses and nonprofit organizations could sell food or novelties, and have games or raffles to raise funds for their various organizations.

The main attraction of the day was the parade, which started at 10:00 am. Basketball and inline hockey tournaments followed and ran until the end of the day. Also beginning after the parade was live music on the stage by the ‘The Bay State Stompers’ and the students of the Foxboro High School and Foxboro Regional Charter School music department. The Fire Department presented ‘Touch a Truck’ for the youngsters in town to enjoy, as well as a house fire demonstration.

Evening activities included tethered hot air balloon rides and Live Music from the ‘Galley Dawgs’. The day ended with a fireworks display at 9:00 p.m.

Most likely, many Print companies in the town were hired to create Flyers and other promotional materials for the range of activities put on during the day.
