The annual ‘Day of Remembering the Holocaust and the Bravery’ will be celebrated by congregations and synagogues from Stoughton, Easton, Brockton, Sharon, Norwood and Canton today.
There will be candle lighting, short services, reading of names, testimonies from survivors, and musical presentations as part of the event.
Those who attend are encouraged to bring new and used postage Stamps for the Holocaust Stamps Project in progress at the Foxboro Regional Charter School.
The project is one of the student life activities at the school designed to help the middle and high school students to learn about the history of the Holocaust and better understand the importance of respect for diversity among different groups.
The goals of the project are to collect 11 million Stamps and create 18 collage artworks, with each piece displaying what the students learned about the events and effects of the Holocaust, while also honoring as many victims as possible, one stamp at a time.
The project so far has received about 40 per cent of the Stamps needed to reach its goal.
The service will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00pm at Temple Sinai in Sharon. More information about the service and the stamp project may be made available by flyer printing companies, which are involved in creating Flyers and other materials to distribute in the community.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Stamps
