Store moves create new commercial mix in Foxboro

Earlier this month, Ocean State Job Lot was in the process of moving from its anchor position in Foxboro Plaza to a new location in a shopping plaza off Commercial Street.

No doubt the store has been using a variety of printing services to let residents know of its new location, which will double the space of current 30,000 square foot store.

The store is moving into a building formerly occupied by the Bradlees department store. The building has been vacant since 2000 when Bradlees closed 33 stores in Massachusetts.

Chic2Chic, a small consignment store in the Plaza that sells men’s and children’s clothing, is planning to move into the building that had been occupied by Ocean State Job Lot. This will enable it to consolidate with its store in the downtown area, which sells women’s Apparel and is about 7,000 square feet in size. According to store manager Katelyn Vivar, the store has more than 8,000 consigners and needs the space. Several new people will also be hired as part of the move.

According to Sharon Wasson, Town Planner, the planned move of Chic2Chic into the Plaza and the occupancy of Work Our World into part of the former Bradlees store required some rebuilding of the parking lot, and that project is close to being finished.
