Major renovations at Foxborough stadium near completion

Work on an overhaul of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough should be completed in time for the new NFL season.

Local Print shops can often assist with informing fans and others in the community about such updates with Flyers and other printed material.

One of the updates will be a new videoboard measuring 370 feet wide by 60 feet high. Totaling 22,200 square feet, it will be the largest outdoor videoboard in the country and will provide fans with an entirely different viewing experience.

There will also be a new lighthouse. Standing at 218 feet in height, it will offer a new 360-degree observation deck with views of the skylines of both Providence and Boston. It will have both stairs and elevators to facilitate access for all attendees. How it will be used on game days is still to be determined.

Wind patterns in the field will be changed as “the open end” will be closed off offering some improvement for players. Noise in the stadium will now bounce off the videoboard, with the idea behind that acoustics inside the stadium will be improved.

The Bud Light Celebration Hall will be redesigned so that fans will be able to see the players leaving the locker room and coming from the tunnel out onto the field.

The Kraft family has spent $250m on these updates, which are expected to be completed by the first week of the regular football season.
