Foxborough to host major soccer event
The Match Schedule for the FIFA World Cup 26 has been announced, with seven matches to be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
Officials from the tournament say that this will be the largest World Cup so far, as there will be 104 matches in three countries with 48 teams from around the world competing.
Maura Healey, governor of Massachusetts, expressed her thrill that thousands of visitors and fans from around the world will be coming to the state in the summer of 2026 for this unforgettable event. The town of Foxborough, the city of Boston, the commonwealth of Massachusetts, Kraft Sports and Entertainment, Meet Boston, and Boston Soccer in addition to regional and local agencies are collaborating to ensure that the visitor experience to the area will be unlike any other. Local print shops can also play an active role in such events by printing brochures and flyers with more information about attractions, shopping, and other destinations in the area.
Thursday, June 13, Sunday, June 16, Wednesday, June 19, Sunday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 26 is when group stage matches are scheduled, with up to 14 national teams visiting the area. The quarterfinal will take place on Tuesday, July 9.
