Community center in Foxborough heads towards completion

Progress is being made on the new Community Center in Foxborough.

The furniture in the auditorium has been installed as well as the flooring. Bids are being reviewed for the elevator, the sewer connection, and infrastructure for information technology, all of which have come in higher than expected. An article has been drafted for the Special Town Meeting in May so that additional funding can be requested to cover these adjustments in costs.

The kitchen of the Community Center has been transformed into a diner with a style of the 1950s. It will be a nostalgic space that will have appliances and diner furniture with a retro look. This is expected to be a welcoming and unique addition to the Community Center.

The town has also issued a new official Logo Design for the Foxborough Community Center. This new Logo Design will serve to visually identify the new space and represent the spirit of engagement, connection, and community.

A good-bye party is being planned for the current Senior Center. This will celebrate 25 years of the Senior Center and honor the memories that have been made over the years. This special event will be on Thursday May 1 and reservations are currently being accepted for this celebration.

The Community Center is expected to open sometime later in May with a grand opening ceremony.
