Turkey day race comes to Devens area
The Gobbler 5K Walk and Run is coming to Stowe, and many from Devens will surely want to participate in this annual event.
The event is open to both children and adults and proceeds benefit the Stowe Community Chest and Habitat for Humanity. Awards will be given out to the male and female finishers who finish first and then to the top overall male and female finishers by age groups, which will be under 15, between 16 and 25, 26 through 39, 40 through 59, and then over 60. The awards will be given out at the end of the race and refreshments will be available.
The race will begin at Stow Community Park and end at Bose in Stow at 8:00 am, and the route is USA Track and Field sanctioned and certified.
Those who want to participate in the Walk and Run can register on the web or during early check-in the day before the race between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, or at Stowe Community Park on the day of the race between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.
The race will be held on tomorrow, November 26. Most likely the Stowe Recreation Department, which is organizing this event, has created flyers and other printed materials promoting this event, not only for the fun and appetite it can work up for the big meal, but also for the good causes it is supporting.
