Special concert set up to honor veterans
Wounded warriors and their families will be celebrated in a concert later this month in Devens.
The concert will be presented by Devens Rock 4 Warriors, and will feature Hot Tuna, G.E. Smith, and his All Star Band, Locash, the Persuasions, and Vetted as a distinctive guest.
President and CEO of Workers’ Credit Union, Doug Petersen, commented that this is not just a concert but also a way to thank veterans for their service and support them. Workers’ Credit Union, along with Aubuchon Hardware, Fidelity Bank, and Springhill Suites Marriott, is among the sponsors of the concert.
Alison Tocci, owner of the Bull Run Restaurant, added that Vetted is the first Wounded Warrior band in America. She continued that being the featured band in the concert will comfort, entertain, and praise soldiers and help those who need assistance with returning to normalcy and balance in their lives.
Tickets are priced between $75 and $85 and $60 for veterans, with 20% of ticket sales going to the Wounded Warriors Project. In addition, during the concert, U-Haul will be collecting gently used instruments to donate to veterans in need.
The concert will be held at the Willard Park Complex in Devens on May 17 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Local print companies may also be involved in creating promotional material for the concert to encourage attendance and ask for additional donations.
