New pharmaceutical laboratory opens in Devens
The Seqens Boston Research and Development (R&D) Center is now open in Devens.
The new facility belongs to Seqens Group, an integrated manufacturer and developer of active pharmaceutical ingredients. It spans 15,000 square feet and is a state-of-the-art center that will provide advanced capabilities for the creation and development of new therapeutics and drugs. It will be the flagship facility in North America for the company’s worldwide research and development network, which has 10 such centers in North America and Europe to support its pharmaceutical customers.
The R&D Center cost the company $5m to build and features advanced design, equipment, and technologies that meet the highest levels of safety, sustainability, and quality. It is a replacement of an older and smaller facility in Devens.
All those currently employed at the lab have moved to the new lab, with the plan to double the number of scientists by 2026. Typically, employees in high-level positions like these require business card printing services.
President and CEO of Seqens Group, Pierre Luzeau, said that moving to this new research and development center in Devens will enable the company to expand in the United States market in a state known as a hub for academics. He added that support from the company’s customers will also help it to set new standards for quality, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
