Robert “Bobby” Bergeron is the new leader of the Leominster High School Marching Band.
Bergeron is planning a return of the band to the football field this fall where they will play a medley from Queen which Bergeron arranged as part of their repertoire. The band will perform at the first home game of the season at Doyle Field in Leominster next month. Residents of Devens may want to see such a game and a debut of a revitalized band.

This is his second year in the district as he was a general music teacher and band director at Sky View Middle School last year. When Barry Hudson, the high school band director at the time was promoted to dean, Bergeron was excited to learn he was being considered for the position. Once he got the position, he started developing new ways to advance the reputation of the band so that they will be able to enter the competition circuit.
Although only 25 years old, Bergeron was in his high school’s marching band and was a member of the UMass Amherst Minuteman Marching Band.
The season home opener will take place on Friday September 20 at Doyle Field.
