A new building on the Devens campus of King Street Properties will be leased by Ascend Elements.
Ascend produces sustainable materials for lithium-ion batteries. The building it will be leasing spans 101,000 square feet and is on Jackson Road in Devens. This deal means that the Pathway Devens development of King Street is now fully leased.
This will be the technology center and world headquarters for the company. Such relocations often call for Stationery printers as new Letterheads, Business Cards, and other corporate materials need to be printed.
The company’s patented technology of hydro-to-cathode direct precursor synthesis was developed by Professors Dr. Eric Gratz and Yan Wang at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Ascend now plays a major role in the economy of the United States and has received funding from the United States Department of Energy, as well as other sources in the private sector.
CEO of Ascent Elements, Mike O’Kronley, said this new headquarters will be a milestone for the company as it continues to grow rapidly in the industry of engineered battery materials. He added that the Pathway Devens location is a world-class facility and has high-quality amenities in a community of innovators in bio- and clean technology. He said that the company is looking forward to having a facility that meets the current needs of the company, and one where it can grow and expand.
