Inaugural art show to held by Devens school
The Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens will be hosting its first Parker Art Show and Sale.
The Show and Sale is being made possible by a partnership between the faculty and the Essential Community Organization of the school – a non-profit organization that raises funds to provide grants to the school.
The Show and Sale will be held in in the auditorium, which will be transformed into a gallery filled with stunning works of art and creativity. Many items will be available for purchase, ranging from smaller items, such as jewelry, and ornaments, to larger ones like photographs, textiles, furniture, oil, and watercolor paintings.
The greater school community, teachers, students, alumni, parents, and others will be donating the artwork.
Ashley Wood, co-organizer of the event and an art teacher at the Parker school, commented that this is an opportunity for the artists in the community to highlight their work and help raise funds for the continuing operation of the school.
The Show and Sale will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 pm this Friday, December 1. There will be a reception and light refreshments.
Professionally printed flyers are often used to make announcements of events such as this one and to publicize the continuing need to raise more money for worthwhile organizations in the area.
