Hydrogen production company to expand into Devens

The first factory of Electric Hydrogen Co. (EH2) will be built here in Devens. The company is a manufacturer of advanced, industrial-scale hydrogen electrolyzer technology.

A newly constructed facility spanning 187,000 square feet has been leased by the company. The capacity of the new facility will be 1.2GW, with the production of 100MW green hydrogen electrolyzers from EH2 once it is completed. The company is currently hiring people to join its team, many of whom will no doubt require business card printing services.

Co-founder and chief technology officer of EG2, Dr. David Eaglesham, said that the main goal of his company is to make molecules that will remove carbon from the world. He said that many industrial sectors need ways to replace fossil resources that are affordable and effective. He added that the machines produced in Devens will enable the production of low-cost green hydrogen at a large scale.

Yvonne Hao, Massachusetts Economic Development Secretary, expressed her excitement about EH2 expanding its footprint and adding high-quality high-tech jobs in the area. Hao added that the cutting-edge technology of the company will be of benefit at both state and national level in reaching the goals of decarbonization. Hao expressed her gratitude for the investment of the company in Massachusetts.

Production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024.
