What's Happening in Devens, MA…

Fusion company moves to Devens

A site spanning 11 acres is currently being developed by King Street Properties for Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) in Devens.

CFS is looking to make fusion energy a commercial product and build the first device for net energy fusion in the world. CFS purchased 47 acres of land from Mass Development this past year and King Street has helped CFS in planning and getting permits for the property.

The first building is scheduled to be constructed on the property, which CFS will lease from King Street. This facility will enable the company to bring fusion power to the market and will house the company’s manufacturing operations to produce components for its fusion device and parts for the power plants of the future. The company’s corporate headquarters will also be located on the property. Stationery printers are often needed when such new headquarters are built for printing new letterheads and business cards.

Executive Director at King Street Properties, Tyson Reynoso, expressed his honor in partnering with CFS in this initial part of its campus and their significant milestone in their efforts to commercialize fusion energy. He added that there is already a thriving technological environment at Devens with many advanced manufacturing and life sciences companies. He said that the move of CFS from Cambridge to Devens will help to expand that environment for many years in the future.
