Young people in Burlington have an online event coming up they will enjoy, as they will have a chance to immerse themselves in an engaging fantasy world.
‘Blackwatch Online: The Edge Of The Blade’ is one of the programs designed by Guard Up & Guardian Adventures, a Burlington company. The company owns and operates events and programs such as Zombie Summer Camps and Wizards & Warriors Summer Camps. The camps are story and STEM-based, and rather than having participating young people play video games or watch films about mythological creatures and heroes, they actually take part in live role-playing.
In addition, participants are encouraged to design the characters they play, and fight the monsters with everything from NERF Blasters to the principles of chemistry, biology, and physics. People taking part in events like this can use graphic design to create their characters.
Since physical gatherings are not taking place at the moment, the adventure is going online. The interactive event allows participating teens to solve mysteries and fight monsters. The event is limited to those between the ages of 13 and 19, and participants need to pre-register, and do so a minimum of 24 hours before the event begins. Once someone registers, login information will be sent so they can access the event.
Pre-registration information is available on the Guard Up website. The online event is set for July 10, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
