Mexican chain opens first Massachusetts location in Burlington

The first location of Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar in Massachusetts is now open in the Burlington Mall. This location brings the chain of Mexican cuisine to Massachusetts.

This is the 12th location of the chain across the country. It created about 85 jobs for the local area. It is on Middlesex Turnpike and features a new design with handcrafted artisan pieces and furnishings sourced from Mexico. The menu at the Burlington location includes guacamole prepared at tableside, seasonally updated dishes, and margaritas. The chef and partner for the location is Lisabet Summa.

The restaurant spans 5,343 square feet and can accommodate 200 people indoors. It also has an outdoor patio that can be used year-round. It is open from 11:00 a.m. to midnight seven days a week and serves lunch and dinner as well as brunch on the weekends.

Rocco Mangel, the founder of Rocco’s Tacos, has a personal connection to the Burlington location as he has family ties to Watertown and when he was growing up, he spent summers in the Boston area. Mangel said:

“Massachusetts has always felt like home to me. I spent my summers here with my family, and those memories have stayed with me throughout my life.”
