The Link has been launched in Burlington.
This is a completely electric shuttle service, available free and on demand, that connects Woburn and Burlington. A pilot program, it will last for one year and offers riders another option for getting to appointments or work, dining, shopping, and making connections to other destinations. There is no fixed schedule or set of stops for The Link – instead, a trip is requested by a rider when they need one and an available vehicle is matched with them.
Circuit operates the service. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation provided a grant to fund the pilot as part of a partnership in the region between Wakefield, Reading, Woburn, and Burlington.
One of the two service zones of The Link includes Burlington and Woburn, allowing riders to travel freely within and between both communities. Burlington residents can also use the service to reach Lahey Clinic and Winchester Hospital. The second zone connects Reading and Wakefield. While trips between the two zones are generally not permitted, riders in either zone may travel to the hospital and clinic.
When unveiling new transport options, departments sometimes utilize brochure printing services to produce timetables and highlight locations to visit.
The Link operates from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, with no service on Sunday.
