Burlington will be holding an Electronics Recycling Event next month. It will be in the parking lot at St. Margaret’s Church on Winn Street.
Any item with batteries or plugs will be accepted, including appliances and electronics. All items will be recycled responsibly.
Among the items accepted are computer-related hardware such as laptops, small printers, video game consoles, cameras, clocks, hairdryers, and other small electronics for a cost of $5 each. Small household appliances such as toaster ovens, electric grills, and sewing machines will be accepted for $10 each. Larger items like printers, vacuum cleaners, and flatscreen computer monitors will be taken for $20 each. Bigger still items such as televisions up to 26 inches can be dropped off for $25 each, while wider televisions, washing machines, and dryers will be accepted for $30 each.
Items that can be dropped off at no charge include cellphones, cables, wires, tablets, and keyboards. Cash donations will also be accepted. People working at the event will be on hand to unload the cars of people dropping off items.
Such events can benefit from flyer printing providing more details on items that can be dropped off and their pricing, as well as other relevant information.
Residents from all communities and towns are welcome to recycle. This will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
