New organic grocery store to come to Burlington

Mom’s Organic Market (MOM), a new organic grocery store, will be opening its first location in New England in Burlington next month. The store will be in the Burlington Crossroads shopping center on Cambridge Street.

MOM started in 1987 as a home delivery business and now is in five states – New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland – as well as Washington, D.C.. It has over 1,000 employees. The store offers 100% percent organic produce, vegan and gluten-free products, sustainable seafood, bulk spices, teas, and herbs.

The store will also have a Naked Lunch Kitchen, which is an all-organic café serving vegan and vegetarian sandwiches made in-house, as well as bowls, juices, and salads.

If such new stores offer weekly specials, these can be promoted with flyer printing services.

It also has a section for banned ingredients and a watchlist for ingredients. MOM has said that such ingredients as artificial colors, flavorings, preservatives, and sweeteners have been banned from its stores. The watchlist also includes ingredients only accepted by the store in rare or exceptional circumstances.

Customers will be encouraged to bring their own Bags for shopping. There will also be a recycling center for the dropping off of cell phones, batteries, shoes, compost, and other items.

The store is expected to open before the end of the month.
