The Planning Board of Burlington recently approved an application by JAM Holdings, Inc. to replace its building dating from the 1970s with a new one.
The existing building on the site of 7.7 acres will be demolished. The single-story building of 50,300 square feet will be replaced by a four-story 84,600-square-foot office building. Datacon, who has been a tenant of their building will move to a new location.
The site will be modernized in keeping with other office buildings in the area as part of the construction, and also several drainage issues on the property will be fixed, as it includes some wetlands sections. JAM Holdings purchased the building from Datacon for $1 back in 2003.
As part of the construction project, JAM Holdings will create a walkway for pedestrians across the front of the building, with the existing bike pathway from Oracle’s field office building a few streets away. JAM Holdings will also be responsible for the bike path.
There will be the requisite 254 parking spots for the new building, and the lighting will be in accordance with the bylaws of the city. The company may also construct a sheltered bus stop if one is required in the future.
JAM Holdings might consider working with a banner printing company to create a banner for the site with more information about the construction project once it begins.
