MilliporeSigma expands to new facility in Burlington

A new campus that will cost $115m will be built by life science company MilliporeSigma in Burlington.

It will include a building of 280,000 square feet in area that be the home for office space, a training center, and a customer collaboration laboratory. It will also include a customer service and call center, and a space for collaboration. This will replace its current M Lab in Billerica.

The new collaboration space will enable scientists and engineers from the company to work with customers on challenges in the life sciences with hands-on training, application troubleshooting, and customer experiments. The 850 employees who currently work at the facility in Billerica will relocate to the new facility in Burlington once construction is completed, which is scheduled for the second half of next year.

According to Udit Batra, CEO of MilliporeSigma CEO, this new and more extensive campus will provide a hub for the life sciences in the United States that will provide a collaborative environment for employees and customers.

The MassWorks Infrastructure Program is providing support for this expansion as it promotes the creation of jobs and economic development.
