The Irish Tenors, with their guest Máiréad Nesbitt, will be at the Lynn Auditorium in Lynn, a short drive from Burlington, just in time for Christmas. The Tenors were created by television producers Bill Hughes and Daniel Harte, who envisioned producing a special starring an Irish singing group.
The first member of the group was John McDermott, a Canadian vocalist, who was later joined by Ronan Tynan and Anthony Kearns, both of whom are classically trained Irish vocalists. “The Irish Tenors: Live in Dublin” was broadcast in the United States on PBS in 1999. The lineup has changed over time, but the group continues to record and tour to great acclaim.
A review says:
“The show was fabulous! The Tenors were having so much fun onstage that it was infectious.”
Máiréad Nesbitt is one of the original members of Celtic Woman, another hugely successful Irish group. Like the Tenors, Celtic Woman was formed at the behest of others, including David Downes, who worked on “Riverdance.” The five original members were Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Lisa Kelly, Órla Fallon, Chloë Agnew, and Máiréad Nesbitt on the fiddle.
Now solo, a review of Nesbitt says:
“Renowned violinist and founding member of Celtic Woman, Máiréad Nesbitt then beautifully leads into a rock session worthy of Madison Square Garden.”
The show is scheduled for December 20 at 7:00 pm. Brochure printing can create informative programs for events like this.
