A restaurant that has been in the planning stages for over a year finally has an opening date.
The Yard House will be opening a Burlington location soon, in the former Chili's on Middlesex Turnpike. This will be the fourth Yard House to open in Massachusetts. The chain is focused on beer, and has more than 100 different beers on tap, including those from local brewers, and custom brews.
The Yard House is one of the restaurants in the Darden Group, which also includes Olive Garden, The Capitol Grille, and Bahama Breeze, among others. The Yard House focuses on making its food from scratch, which it pairs with its many brews. It also has a carefully chosen playlist of classic rock and new rock, music which plays in the restaurants all the time, giving the Yard House its signature sound.
Yard House is also committed to helping others in its community. Each day, every Yard House in the nation prepared, packs, freezes, and stores surplus, unserved food which it then donates to local shelters, food banks, and other organizations. Last year, the donated food came to 270,000 pounds, and since 2012, the total of donated food totals 600,000 pounds.
