Burlington to explore people-plants relationship

Humanity’s long and complicated relationship with plants will be the topic of an activity that will explore this from a variety of angles.

The Native Plant Trust, which offers workshops and other learning opportunities for Burlington residents, will be hosting a meeting that will discuss the book “Around the World in 80 Plants.” It will be a live virtual activity, and everyone who is interested is welcome to join in the conversation.

The book on the agenda will introduce readers to the many ways plants have impacted human history. It has been written by a former trustee of England’s Kew Gardens, and the species discussed will range from familiar types to ones that are relatively unknown. The book was written by Jonathan Drori, and is a sequel to his first publication, which was titled “Around the World in 80 Trees.” Both Native Plant Trust members and non-members alike are encouraged to take part, and continuing education credits may be on offer.

Although virtual events take place online, they may still benefit from the service of a poster printing company, which will be able to help spread the word about them to potential attendees.

The date for this virtual book discussion will be January 11, starting at 1:00 pm. Everyone who wished to participate will need to sign up ahead of time.
