The UMass Chan-Lahey Regional Medical Campus on Mall Road in Burlington is currently being renovated to become a new medical campus for the region.
Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and the UMass Chan Medical School have partnered in this endeavor to educate those who wish to become physicians using a multispecialty, patient-centered, evidence-based, and interprofessional practice approach. Among the features at the campus will be four learning community classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, a student lounge with areas for studying, a new state-of-the art space for simulations and a standardized patient program with four exam rooms, serenity and lactation rooms, and a lounge for staff.
The core curriculum of the T.H. Chan School of Medicine at UMass Chan will be followed by the medical students. Their third- and fourth-year rotations will be under the direction of faculty at Lahey and site directors with specific specialties. There will be a new track focused on leadership, interprofessional education, and health systems science, as well as a new research collaboration with the creation of a quantitative science research hub and a new institute for the science of healthcare delivery.
Local Print shops can play a major role in promoting such new campuses with the creation of Flyers and other materials highlighting their features and unique offerings.
The new campus is expected to open this spring with 25 students in the first class.
