Burlington police officers promoted

Burlington's Board of Selectmen recently approved the promotions of seven officers serving with the Burlington Police Department, according to a brief article on Patch.com. The board followed the recommendations made by Michael Kent, the city's police chief, in approving the changes.

In a press release, Kent said he was extremely proud of the list of officers to be promoted, as it indicates the substantial leadership capabilities found within the department. Kent added that residents' expectations of their department have “never been higher” and they could feel secure in the fact that the skills, experience, and training of the seven officers would enable them to serve the community with the professionalism and integrity expected from the department.

Lieutenant Robert T. Kirchner was promoted to Captain, Timothy McDonough was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Lieutenant, Daniel Hanafin was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant, and Kevin Cooney was also promoted to Lieutenant from Sergeant.

There are also three new Sergeants in the department: Bernard Schipelliti was promoted from Patrolman to Sergeant, as were Peter T. Abaskharoun. Finally and Detective Thomas Carlson.

When changes like this occur, organizations of any kind have the opportunity to work a business card printing company, which can create new cards for the individuals to reflect their change in status, and show their correct rank or title.
