An upcoming class will give students insights into information retrieval and other computer concepts.
Certstaffix® Training, which has a training center in Burlington, is offering a class in structured query language (SQL) to teach students how to compose SQL queries and use them to retrieve information from a database. This is important because, while databases are vital, the volume of information they hold can make it difficult to retrieve and manipulate needed data.
The SQL Querying Basic Class explores the concepts of databases and teaches students how to write SELECT queries, use expressions and functions that are built in, join tables, form unions and subqueries, and more.
The courseware that will be used is Microsoft SQL Server, but students can also work successfully if they have MySQL or Oracle. The organizer has other courses available as well, such as “My SQL Workbench: Data Modeling & Development,” “SQL Querying – Advanced,” and “SQL Querying – Basic.”
The class will be taught remotely by an instructor from Certstaffix® Training in Burlington, with students attending online from their homes or offices, or from a local computer lab. The atmosphere will resemble that of a physical classroom, since students will be able to see the instructor, ask questions, and hear others' questions and comments.
The two-day workshop is scheduled for December 16 and 17, starting each day at 10:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. Instructors of events like this can use graphic design to create appropriate class materials.
