Superintendent Steven Hiersche of the Beverly School has announced that the search is on for an assistant superintendent and a principal for Hannah Elementary School.
Susan Snyder, its current principal, will take us a new role at Sprague Elementary School in Wellesley. No doubt the district will be turning to various printing services so as to enlist people to serve on the screening committees for both positions.
According to Hiersche, it is hoped that the principal position will be filled by the end of the school year so that Snyder can help that person establish relationships and allow them to get up and running quickly.
The job advertisement notes that requirements for the position of principal include being a strong leader, having effective communications skills, and showing a sincere interest in the education of all students. The candidate must also be knowledgeable in the latest trends in education, and be able to establish an environment of academic and professional excellence.
Qualities being looked for in the assistant role are very similar to that for the principal position but at the district level. The school district is in the process of determining special education and human resource issues in the short term so as to be able to make decisions for Beverly that will be pivotal to its future.
