Beverly’s true crime fans and anyone else interested in the science of forensics is invited to be part of an activity that will introduce them to some of the tricks of the trade.
The community's Main Library will be hosting the Forensic Science Roadshow for an event that will give amateur sleuths an opportunity to learn more about some of the forensic crime solving methods used in the real world. It will be interactive, and due to the subject material, it is suited to a high school age audience and up.
The session will be led by Paul Zambella, and he will explore topics ranging from testing DNA and blood to the use of fingerprints, footwear impressions, gunshot residue crime lights, metal detectors and other equipment and techniques. Paul worked with the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory for 36 years as a Forensic Scientist, and has a lot of experience in the field. No advance registration is required.
A library may serve as a local hub, offering the public opportunities to learn about a variety of topics. A poster printing company can prepare materials that keep the community informed about what it has on offer.
The Forensics Science Roadshow will be making a stop in the Soher Room of the Main Library located at 32 Essex Street. It is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
