Beverly’s clam fans may want to be on hand for an area festival focused on this popular shellfish.
The 41st annual Essex ClamFest and Arts and Crafts Festival is right round the corner, and its agenda offers something for almost everyone. It will follow a new format, with the yearly Clam Chowder Competition being set up in the venue’s tennis courts.
The five-hour celebration will be open to all, and Shepard Memorial Park will be its location. Local chefs will be vying for the title of clam chowder champ, and the crowd can sample their creations for as long as supplies last. Everyone can spend time browsing and buying in the arts and crafts market, and live entertainment will also be in the mix.
An assortment of food service providers will be on hand, with Rockport Brewing supplying the beer. Kids can make some new reptile friends and have their faces painted.
A friendly competition may add some extra excitement to a festival or other event. Awards for the top recipes can be custom crafted by printing services companies that have the personnel and technology to perform in-house graphic design work.
