Roost & Company, the seller of scented candles, greeting cards, and other assorted items, recently opened in downtown Beverly.
Husband and wife co-owners Jamie Metsch and Kate Leavy had opened the original Roost store in Salem several years ago, and had always been interested in having a store in Beverly. However, Casa de Moda, also in downtown Beverly and selling similar items, would have posed as too much competition, meaning the idea was put on the back burner until the store closed.
After much encouragement and securing the location in the former home of JGM Numismatic Investments, the pair spent about 10 weeks renovating the store as a miniature version of its Salem equivalent.
The manager of the store is Nichole Walker, a graduate of the Montserrat College of Art and a Beverly resident. She said that there is a little bit of everything in the store, and the items are always changing. There are many one-of-a-kind pieces, off-the-wall items, and various unconventional Books.
Store hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6:00 pm on Sundays. Leavy hopes to expand the hours once they get better acquainted with the community and customers get a better sense of what the store is about.
The use of flyer printing companies to publicize more information about the store will be a good way to make the community aware of its diversity of items.Get a Free Quote for Books
