Flip the Bird, serving fried chicken sandwiches in the style of Southern cuisine, recently opened in the Cabot Plaza in Beverly. The restaurant is owned by Victoria Farnsworth and Anthony Marino.
Marino commented that customer feedback from the restaurant has been positive and many customers have already returned in the few short weeks they have been opened. In addition to word-of-mouth, flyer printing can be used to promote such new eateries in town.
Flip the Bird also serves ribs and a variety of drinks and side dishes. The signature sandwich on the menu is the OG, which is a filet of fried chicken topped with homemade buttermilk ranch dressing and half sour pickles, and served on a potato roll.
This sandwich had been a feature item on Friday on the menu of Marino’s café which is also operated by the two owners. The sandwich had been so successful in improving their business on what used to be slow Fridays, the owners decided to build a new concept around the sandwich.
They developed the idea for Flip the Bird and acquired and renovated a former Kentucky Fried Chicken location in the Cabot Plaza. The restaurant focuses on flavors from the South served in a fast-casual dining experience. There is seating indoors, and during the summer months there will be a patio for outdoor seating.
