The inaugural Beverly Warrior Weekend will be in the city next month.
This will be a military celebration and service event and is being organized by David Perinchief, Beverly Veterans Services Agent. Perinchief said there are three goals for the event. One is to offer a glimpse into life in the military for young people who may be interested in serving. Another is to provide one location where veterans from the North Shore can find out about support and eligibility options while. The third is to provide an entertaining and fun festival for residents of the city and surrounding areas.
During the two-day event there will be a bomb truck, a United States Coast Guard interactive trailer and boat, a branded semi-truck and trailer, and Chappie and Sherman tanks. There will also be displays of historic weapons from the Bayonet Division Korean War Living History Group, the 3-5-0 Girls Tribute to women's contributions to World War II, the Bakers Company, and the demonstration of war weapons from the Wilmington Company of Minutemen.
Also planned will be a Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) competition for high school students, combat sports demonstrations, and an axe-throwing contest for those over the age of 18. Brochure printing can be used for such events to outline the times and more information about activities.
This event will take place on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21 on the grounds of Beverly High School.
