Local heroes to be honored by Red Cross

The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts will be holding its annual Community Heroes Breakfast later this month at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore in Danvers, just a short distance from Beverly.

The breakfast honors local heroes who have exemplified the mission of the Red Cross over the past year. They have rescued someone in need, given of themselves to better the community, or have performed extraordinary acts of courage. It is a fundraiser that enables the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts to help people in 59 cities and towns when they need it most.

Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts, Frederica Doeringer, commented that this is the 14th year that this event has been held, adding that it honors real people in the community who give of themselves daily and in times of crisis.

The honorees this year are Sydney Frasca of Beverly, Al and Fran Dichner of Middleton, Joseph Trustey of Wenham, Leonard Campanello and Vionette Chipperini of Gloucester, the Saturday Night Meal Program of Newburyport, and the Methuen Schools Leadership Team.

This is an important celebration for the American Red Cross, so it might want to invest in flyer printing so it can distribute more information about the awards, as well as present and past recipients and their contributions to the community.

The breakfast will be held on March 31 from 7:30 to 9:00 am.
