Festival of the arts to come to nearby Beverly

The Salem Arts Festival will be held this weekend.

This event is free and family-friendly and features a variety of theater performances, dance, art, and music throughout downtown Salem. Residents of nearby Beverly will not want to miss this special event.

Creative Collaborative and Salem Main Streets have collaborated to present this year’s festival, which is a source of revenue and pride for numerous creative professionals in the area and an economic boost for the community. Local printing services are often used to promote such special events throughout a region.

Throughout the festival there will be a street fair with over 70 artisans and local crafters selling their products and art-making activities for people of all ages, pop-up art exhibitions in businesses around town, and a public art installation.

Among the performances will be puppetry by the Miracle Fish Puppets; folk music by Jen and Bob Strom; rock music by Cosmic Vultures, Tilt-a-Whirl, Depp Sea Divers, and Flight or Visibility; and aerial artistry from Baechtold and Abel. Other performances will include The Northshoremen Chorus (a barbershop quartet and chorus) and the ChagallPAC Saxophone Quartet.

The festival will take place this Friday, June 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Derby Square and the Old Town Hall in Salem.
