Federal funding awarded to company in Beverly

Over $2m in funds from the federal government for infrastructure will be used by Nth Cycle in Beverly to refine electronic and metal waste into more efficient and cleaner production of lithium-ion batteries.

Announcements of such funding and their benefits for a region are often made known to a community with flyer printing.

Through a process known as electro-extraction, the company will be able to produce the needed battery power to meet federal mandates for carbon neutrality. Megan O’Connor, co-founder and CEO of Nth Cycle, said that there needs to be a compliant supply of minerals such as cobalt and nickel that are mined, refined, and recycled locally. O’Connor added that the company’s electro-extraction technology will be paramount in providing the supply of these necessary materials domestically.

United States Representative Seth Moulton who represents the Sixth District in which Beverly is located expressed his thrill that Nth Cycle has received such funding from the federal government. He said that the district is one place where there are the most cutting-edge companies in the world and whose work is preparing the country for the future. He added that Nth Cycle is one of those companies and its production of batteries in a more sustainable and cleaner way is becoming more important for the security of the American supply chain, its economy, and the environment.
