Courses and support groups to be held in Beverly

The Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals have several opportunities for the community.

American Heart Association (AHA) CPR courses will be offered by Beverly Hospital. These are designed for non-medical personnel and teach the techniques and skills used in CPR for infants, children, and adults. They also cover the use of protection devices for mouth-to-mouth breathing and choking in children and adults.

The courses typically run from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and cost $50, which also includes a textbook and the AHA Heart Saver Student Workbooks. At the end of the course, attendees receive an AHA Heart Saver course completion card. More information about such courses can be found by calling the hospital.

The Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals are also looking for volunteers in the gift shop. Those who are interested in this opportunity will learn about retail in healthcare and experience an enjoyable shop environment. They also receive a meal voucher and discounts at the shop. More information is available on the hospitals’ websites.

The Addison Gilbert Hospital also will be holding its Gloucester Stroke Club on the first Wednesday of every month in the Longan Room from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This support group provides the opportunity for stroke survivors or caregivers to meet each other and engage in a variety of activities.

Poster printing services are often used to promote such opportunities.
